WELCOME TO SEA OF EASE

Hi, I’m Kanae, the founder of Sea of Ease.
Based in O’Connor, I support clients from Fremantle, South Fremantle, Hilton, Hamilton Hill, Melville, and surrounding suburbs.
I’m a remedial massage therapist who blends clinical precision with a calm, intuitive treatment style. I trained in Perth and earned my Diploma of Remedial Massage, with additional study in dry needling, sports massage, lymphatic drainage, and pregnancy massage.
Every session is tailored in real time using continuous assessment, re testing, and clear, respectful communication. The goal is not just to “loosen things up,” but to create a real shift in how your body feels and moves. I focus on meaningful change in pain, mobility, and nervous system state, with strong attention to safety, consent, and long term sustainability. I’ve worked alongside physiotherapists and chiropractors, supporting everything from postural stress and chronic tension to sports recovery.
Alongside massage, I bring years of experience as a yoga practitioner and teacher, and as a freediving coach. These practices shape the way I work with breath, body awareness, and down regulation, especially if your system feels tired, stressed, or stuck in long held tension patterns.
Born in Japan and shaped by travel through over 35 countries, I naturally value warmth, presence, and genuine care. Outside the clinic, you’ll usually find me cuddling every dog on the street, sharing plant based snacks with the birds, or picking up rubbish on the beach.
I genuinely love this work, and my goal is to help people feel at home in their body again, so pain doesn’t shrink your world. I want you to leave each session feeling better in your body and brighter in yourself, and more able to do what lights you up.

The Sea of Ease Approach
Every session starts with a clear priority. Some days you want a specific change in pain, tightness, or mobility. Other days you want deep rest and a nervous system reset. I tailor the session to what you need most on the day.
My approach is guided by continuous assessment, which simply means I keep checking how your body is responding as we go. I work with a blend of trigger point techniques, dry needling when indicated, tissue led myofascial release, deeper work when appropriate, and joint or limb mobilisations to restore ease and range of motion.
Throughout the session, I pay close attention to your breathing, muscle guarding, and subtle cues, adjusting pressure and pace so your body can soften without being pushed past its limit. If movement is restricted, I often re test during the session to make sure the work is targeted and that the change is real and measurable.
Rather than following a routine, I look for the main driver behind your symptoms. That might be overall muscle tone, tight or sticky tissue layers, stress load, posture habits, sports demands, old injuries, or movement patterns. The treatment is always matched to what seems most important for your body right now.
